Meet Our Founder

Karen Seaton

Meet Karen Seaton, a seasoned pilot with a passion for aviation and cutting-edge simulation training.

With vast experience and numerous certifications, Karen is passionately pioneering an approach to flight safety that is new, unique, and never been done before with SimClub by Kilo Sierra.

Inspired by her father’s career as a pilot for Northwest Airlines, Karen’s life trajectory has always revolved around aviation. Following her college education, she began her career path as a flight instructor at Flying Cloud Airport in Minnesota.  She obtained her AMEL certification in 1990 and her ASEL certification shortly after. Over the next decade, she acquired her ATP certificate and two type ratings before beginning her corporate flying career.

In 2013, after years of battling health issues, Karen was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. This brought her career to a juncture in which she had to reevaluate her life journey and carefully consider next steps. Following a brief hiatus, Karen returned to aviation as the Head Coach of the Metropolitan State University Precision Flight Team in Denver, Colorado. She gradually transitioned back to flying at a Cirrus Training Center in Denver where she completed her Flight Review, IPC, SR22T Transition, and a Mountain Flying Course.

Today, Karen is based in Denver where she enjoys hiking, relaxing at coffee shops, and spending time with her two daughters, Abby and Grace. She is constantly exploring new destinations in her Cirrus SR22T, and champions safety initiatives within the aviation community. Her journey as a pilot, a mother, and a woman with an undying passion for aviation, has led her to the creation of SimClub by Kilo Sierra.

Join Karen at SimClub by Kilo Sierra for a new kind of aviation journey, where expertise meets passion and safety takes flight.
